Let’s get talking about beauty! So what made you get into the beauty industry and why?

I've always loved makeup but being in school and having no job made it a little difficult. I was always stuck on what I wanted to do with my life and many of my friends actually mentioned doing makeup as a career but I always shrugged it off until the past year, my friends managed to convince me to start up my Instagram page. Since then I have taken a course to become a qualified freelance makeup artist.

Who are your main influencers and beauty inspirations?

Lsgmakeup - I love how bold her looks are, I adore all of them and it definitely encourages me to be more inspired. As well as Pat McGrath, I'm obsessed with her work.

Your favourite product and why?

Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place foundation. It's full coverage, great for oily skin and it really does stay in place all day and night. I've tried over 50+ foundations and will always come back to this one because nothing compares.

Do you prefer colourful looks or neutral and why?

Definitely colourful. I think by looking at my Instagram you could probably tell I just love the creativity behind it, for my page I do try and create wearable looks for my followers but I feel they do all just look the same. I just love bold looks.

What advice would you give up-coming make-up artists, trying to break through the competition?

Do it for yourself. So many people are doing this now, it is really difficult to stand out. Don't focus on the numbers and how quickly you are growing, because it takes such a long time. If you focus on your follower count you are just going to be disappointed, you need to do it because it's your passion, not for the free makeup or holidays to the Bahamas.

What’s your favourite eye look you’ve created and why?

My red cut crease and snowflakes. It was so fun to create, I love being artsy with makeup instead of wearable. I loved the result and actually wore it to work on Christmas Eve.

How would you describe your professional/personal growth from your first look to now?

My professional growth has come a long way. When I started this page it was just a bit of fun but now a year later, I’m building my kit, taking regular bookings and earning money. My personal growth has grown a lot as well. When I first started my page I was so scared to upload in case of people's criticism and now I see it as a positive. My Instagram is like a portfolio and diary of my progress and I’m very proud of it.

What are your future plans for the growth of your brand/career?

My future plans would be to hit 1k followers on my Instagram page and to eventually quit my job and go full time as a MUA. I would love to open my own home salon.
